Overview

Tuned to the opening notes of Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

Inspired by the Chicago Cubs' World Series win in 2016, this chime is tuned to the opening notes of Take Me Out to the Ball Game, a Tin Pan Alley song written in 1908 by Jack Norworth and put to music by Albert Von Tilzer. The song was first played at a Major League Baseball game during the 4th game of the 1934 World Series. Nowadays it's sung at baseball games in North America, always during the seventh-inning stretch, with the crowd enthusiastically singing along.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd
...
For its one, two, three strikes you're out
At the old ball game!

This chime was designed with a removable windcatcher for easy customization. Including a personal message such as a wedding date, note of sympathy or birthday greeting makes the gift that much more special. Woodstock Chimes does not offer engraving services, but the removable windcatcher can be taken to a personalization store, trophy shop, printer or jeweler to be engraved or silk-screened.

There are Windstock Chimes and then there's everything else that isn't even in the same ball park. After the first time I heard a Windstock Chime, I knew I would never get anything else. I got the Take Me Out to the Ball Game Chime because I'm a baseball fan - when I was a kid, I'd score the games so my father, who played in the old industrial leagues, could see what happened when he got home from work. My husband is a dyed-in-the-wool baseball fanatic. The chime arrived in perfect condition and was installed in the center of the pergola in the back yard. I wasn't sure if it would get enough breeze because it is sheltered from the prevailing winds by the house. I didn't need to worry! It catches every wisp of breeze and has a delightfully light and airy tone. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. Thank you for another beautiful chime! The wind chime is beautiful but the customer service not good. I accidentally ordered two wind chimes and they would not send me a shipping label to send back. They said they would refund me the amount I paid but the shipping was going to cost 23 dollars! What business doesn't offer return labels nowadays? The seven tubes are in consecutive order of the notes to " Take me out to the Ball game". This weekend is opening day for MLB. Can't wait to play the chime during the 7th inning stretch. Was this comment helpful? yes no (2 people found this comment helpful, 0 did not)

My husband was Delighted with his Chanukah gift! It has withstood our severe winds this month. We are big Dodger fans, so this gift was just right Was this comment helpful? yes no (1 people found this comment helpful, 1 did not)

I am rating them on what I think but I actually bought them for gifts for my daughters and wouldn't you rather have their opinions? Was this comment helpful? yes no (1 people found this comment helpful, 1 did not)

I love Woodstock chimes, own several, and they have been my gift-of-choice for many people over the yrs. Not complaining, but not being on-line or Cyber Monday savy, it would have been nice to get the free shipping everyone else got a day later.
